Jr/Sr Science Teacher

Due to a change in programming as well as increased growth and enrolment Sunchild First Nation School is in need of a Jr. / Sr. Science teacher. The school administration is seeking an enthusiastic and creative teacher who is willing to join an incredible staff who bring experience, endless energy and devotion to teaching aboriginal youth.
The successful applicant needs to be highly organized, creative and able to develop a safe, stimulating classroom environment centred on lessons that are actively engaging to students and encourage student success.
Sunchild School is a K to Grade 12 School with 328 students and 58 staff, many who have been working at the school for 12+ years. The staff are dedicated to student-centred programming that promotes academic excellence as well as exposing students to innovative extracurricular activities.
The school is located 65 km Northwest of Rocky Mountain House. We have teacherages available to interested new staff, competitive pension and benefit package as well as salaries comparable to the provincial school boards.
Applicants who apply by noon on Monday, January 7th will be given guaranteed consideration. Interviews will be conducted in person or via Skype on Thursday, January 10th. Commencement of teaching duties will be determined upon selection of a successful candidate,
Teachers must be eligible for Alberta Teachers certification, and have a willingness to be involved in extracurricular activities. The successful candidate must also submit a criminal record check and intervention record checks as a condition of employment.
